These are very drafty working documents, a first step in jotting down ideas for a book on authentic sustainability. Each section of the working paper is a pointer to a territory, and each could become a chapter of the book. Together they address some common pitfalls in conversations about sustainability that we often see undermining our effectiveness as we advocate for better practices in our lives and organizations. We suggest some pathways around those pitfalls.
The intended audience is people seeking to grow their leadership skills in the context of creating a better world. We hope the work is useful even at this early stage, but our intention for sharing this draft is to invite feedback and solicit contributions. We are constantly revising and expanding the ideas and conducting qualitative interviews with sustainability practitioners. Their stories contribute toward and illustrate the pitfalls. Please contact us if there is some one whom you would recommend as a possible contributor.
